So The Silver Samurai debuted in July of 1974 in Daredevil 111. What is neat is that then in November of 1974, Daredevil 115 came out with the first ad page of Incredible Hulk 181. And in that very same ad page is the letters to the editor of people discussing how much they loved Daredevil 111. That same month, Incredible Hulk 181 came out. 
 

Fast forward 11 years later and X-Men 173 comes out with, arguably, one of the best fight scenes of Wolverine ever drawn. And who is he fighting? Yup, The Silver Samurai! I’ve got the slabs and pictures to prove it

Love X-Men #173 so much! Blew my mind when I first read it back in the 80s. I think I even copied/redrew the Paul Smith cover on my own.

I have about 70% of the original art from X-Men #172, including the cover.  I also have a number of pages from X-Men #173, including these two.  The art from these two issues are my favorite things in my collection and they will never be sold in my lifetime:

I actually used to own the splash page from the first Silver Samurai appearance in Daredevil as well, but, without a strong nostalgic connection to it, I ended up selling it.

I've seen you OA on Comic Art Fans and I am super jealous! Such a great fight scene. Funny enough, I also used to own page 10 from Daredevil 111, the page where the animals attack Silver Samurai. And I sold it for the exact same reason you did.

I used to own the cover to Daredevil 111 but it "disappeared" from my back room.

Am I the only one who finds it bizarre that someone slabbed a letter page?

I slabbed the page for the 181 ad, not the letters (the letters on DD 111 was just a happy coincidence). But, yes, it is a little weird and I love it!
