 During my first early retirement I tried to make several toys I found in the comics and I animated some of the Dell covers...so I'm with you on this.  Back in my youth the Giant Size Dell Comics were filled with games and toys that could be made.  I think those were usually summer issues intended to keep kids busy at home and off the streets and passing railroad boxcars.
