Avengers Infinity War

Hey now - that's the other thread. :baiting:

Something About Mary (Frank and beans)

I was thinking comic book related. But that film is still funny.

And the scene with Mary's brother calling him 'Frank and Beans'... :roflmao:

  • The Punisher

This film was just so practical with its fight scenes long before John Wick, people seemed to want their 'big comic book movie' rather than appreciate the urban streets vigilante.

That big fight scene between Thomas Jane and Kevin Nash (oddly enough, the big bouncer from the first John Wick film) is straight from the comic books.

The Punisher Vol. 5, #11 (2000)

Does it have to be superhero films

I noticed nobody said Jonah Hex

Comic book films in-general. Like:

  • 300: What an incredible portrayal of a great comic book mini
  • Oblivion: Tom Cruise and his fellow actors make this so much fun and the soundtrack adds to the scenes
  • The Shadow: What a missed opportunity as they got so much of this right yet audiences didn't connect
  • Timecop: A fantastic film
  • Wanted: Angelina Jolie :x

  • Wonder Woman
  • The Dark Knight
  • Blade II
  • Spider-Man 2
  • Ghost Rider (honestly - despite how drunk my friends and I got before paying to see this in the theaters, it's now on Netflix and is gloriously cheesy)
  • History of Violence (re-watched this last week. It holds up.)
  • Batman ('89)
  • The Punisher (but the fatal flaw with this film - it was released around the same time as Denzel's Man on Fire remake, which had basically the same plot as The Punisher but was superior in every respect)
  • Constantine (latest rumor is...Keanu's circling a sequel?)
  • Superman II

THIS

I love this film as an Elseworld story where John Constantine is an American. So much of this film works perfectly. To include the Lucifer and Gabriel portrayals.

The rumor of a sequel came from screenwriter Mattson Tomlin (The Batman) sharing his love of the Constantine film.

And then later Scott Derrickson sharing one of his favorite films to watch (next to Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut).
