Artist attribution

How do I dispute an artist attribution that I believe to be incorrect? I currently own four CGC graded copies of Brave and the Bold 45. They range from 7.5 to 9.2. They all state that the cover art pencils are by Carmine Infantino and the inking by Murphy Anderson. I dispute the inking credit. I believe that the inking was done by Joe Giella. I have been in contact with Frank Giella, Joe’s son, and he also believes the inking to be that of his father. I am awaiting word from Joe, himself. Frank also sent me a link to the GCD that confirms my hunch. The link is https://www.comics.org/ issue/17291/

I have been collecting comic books for over sixty years, and could recognize the telltale style of individual artists and inkers by the time I was 10, even if I didn’t know all of their names at the time. Over the last few decades I’ve concentrated on collecting mostly twice-up silver age original comic art. Trust me when I say I know what I am speaking of.

Joe Giella is a living legend, and adding one more credit to his ledger will probably mean nothing to him. But as one who admired his work, as well as his silver age contemporaries, Anderson, Greene, Esposito, et al, I would just like to set the record straight.

Thank you,

Joel B.

Just heard back from Frank Giella. Joe Giella confirmed that he inked the cover of Brave and the Bold 45. I rest my case. Now how do I get my CGC slabbed books corrected? Or at minimum, my 9.2 example.

Hi Jennifer!
It is now July 8th. I followed your advice and sent info to customer service, but I have yet to hear back from anybody. Certainly I should have received some sort of response, even if it was a pro forma “thank you, we’re looking into it.”
We just lost Joe Sinnott. It would be nice to have the proper attribution while Joe Giella is still with us.
