A thread for attempting to identify which artists drew which uncredited art as best as possible, whether they be covers or comic stories.

OK, I guess I'll start this with a controversial cover.  This has always been attributed to Baker in the guide, but most Baker collectors disagree.  Who actually did this cover?

I once read that the best way to identify artists is by the ears, they could change the way they drew most everything else but the ears tend to be specific and consistent. 

So yeah, there is that.

There hasn’t been a confidently-made confirmation, at least that I know of, as to who drew these Shock Gibson covers. It’s suggested that they were either drawn by Bob Powell or Norman Fallon.

Matt Baker is suggested on GCD as well. Not sure if there’s a more accurate candidate though.

This cover was apparently done by Terry Szenics, though I’ve also thought of the possibility that it was done by her husband, Zoltan Szenics. Not sure which seems more possible though.

In regards to Jack Kirby, it’s uncertain as to whether it was him or Joe Simon who drew these covers in particular, and I’m not exactly sure how to differentiate between their art:

Kirby's hands sorta suck.  So I'd say these were Simon.

To my eyes, it looks like you got at least 3 different artists on these.

Pretty sure this is by Charles Coll. He tended to draw the hairstyles of women being curled like snail shells, electrical-esque energy being presented in the form of thick and jagged bars, and the noses of antagonists as big and slightly pointed.

Larry Riley, who liked to draw furry animals, at least with cats, as short, a little chubby, and with tufts of fur sticking out from the sides of their face. He also went as far as drawing characters with irises:

Speed 20 -- Kirby pencils.  Kirby's art is dynamic, giving you a sense of action & motion, like with the circular motion of the kid's rifle.

Speed 23 -- Simon pencils.  Awkward design with stiffly posed lead figure.

Airboy -- Kirby layout.  No particular reason,  that is the dramatic feeling I get when looking at it.
