Disappointing First Experience with Pressing
1 1

1 post in this topic

I submitted a copy of Incredible Hulk #377 (3rd Printing) for grading about a year ago and it came back as a 9.0 with grader notes of light creasing to cover and light spine stress lines to cover.

I started researching pressing and thought this would be a good candidate to get a higher grade. So I submitted it last month for pressing and re-grading. To my surprise it was re-graded at 9.0 with the following grader notes:

indent center of front cover
light creasing to cover
light spine stress lines to cover
small crease left bottom

In effect it had more flaws after pressing. I know there's no guarantee it would grade higher but how are there more flaws after pressing? Also did I misinterpret what flaws pressing can improve?

Thanks in advance for your comments.
