Broncho (brŏn´kō), n. {Sp. bronco rough, wild.} A native or a Mexican horse of small size. {Western U.S.}

There was an outlaw that went by that name in the late 1800s and the spelling of his name sometimes had and "H" and sometimes didn't depending on the source. There was also silent film actor who mainly starred in westerns that went by "Broncho Billy" and his name too was spelled both ways constantly.

Not as much as Johnny, I'll wager. Even if dried out, it looks to me as though Johnny's carrying at least 20 pounds of wood here. Let's see those busy little quadrupeds try that standing upright, without fully opposable thumbs! .

Not like his:

Mike DiMuzio's Rifleman Rifle information page (tripod.com)

Keep in mind that although the weapon is based on an 1892 model Winnie, the show was set in the 1880s North Folk, New Mexico territory

In case anyone here has an interest in collecting these, ebay has a wide array of 19th century cabinet cards.

They're also called CDV (Carte de Vista)

I prefer the ones that @alexgross.com makes.  Though good luck finding one of those in stock.
