He was somewhat aloof but very nice. He biked from his place downtown to DC's offices at 666 Fifth Avenue, and kept his bicycle in the office every day, which for some reason as an 18 year old from Queens I thought was pretty funny. At the time he was overseeing a lot of the Vertigo imprint stuff if I remember correctly, and the Batman titles, and writing The Question. He reminded me of Andy Warhol for some reason. He had a story in the Joker 80th anniversary special, published this week. Another great achievement of his is being part of the renaissance at Marvel in the 80s, as an editor.
