Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone might be able to educate me as to what that white area is on the cover under the s and p? I dont think its white out, as that area is smooth to the touch as if it's part of the original print ink and doesnt show anything odd under a black light.

This is a newsstand copy by the way. I saw one graded as high as a 9.6 with this... just curious as to what it actually is.

Thank you in advance

Probably something on the print plate that didn't allow the ink to stick to the plate in that area.  You can see in the letter P that the bottom left is pink.  If the blue ink had been applied there, it would be purple like the rest of the letter.  So it's just ink that didn't get on there, not something added.  A manufacturing process defect, usually ignored by the graders.
