Close-Up, August, 1941.  This is an oversized pinup magazine with an article "How Comic Magazine Characters Are Made."  Somebody had the genius idea... "Let's make a fumetto that involves pinup models showing how comics books are made.  We'll caption photos of models posing for artists who are drawing MLJ comics."  The result is a five-page spread that combines cheesecake and comics.
A model lounges while reading Shield-Wizard #3 (Spring, 1941), and strewn about her are Pep Comics #15 (May, 1941), Top-Notch #14 (April, 1941), Jackpot Comics #1 (Spring, 1941), Zip Comics #15 (June, 1941), and Blue Ribbon Comics #11 (April, 1941).  In addition to a great old comics article from the very early days of the industry, you have lots of great pinup photos as well.  $195 shipped in the US.
