It with great sorrow that we must announce the passing of Joltin’ Joe Sinnott on June 25th at 8:40am at the age of 93. He went peacefully with the knowledge that his family, friends, and fans adored him. He enjoyed life and was drawing up until the end. He always loved hearing from all of you and having your comments read to him. Each and every one of you were special to him.

My first comic ever was a George Perez - Joe Sinnott affair (FF 172) that immediately drew me into comics.  I think he's truly one of the best artists of his generation, as everything he touched, regardless of artist, was fantastic.  A true legend.

Wow, what a sad day. I got to meet Joe several times and chat a little. Many great stories. He was "old school" and very much appreciated his fans. A wonderful career and long life. There are just so few left. RIP Joe. The bullpen is waiting...

RIP Joltin' Joe! The true legends are almost all gone now. A great artist in his own right, as well as Kirby's best inker. Seemed like a really great guy.

Very sad.  I only met him once,   Here's a pic from about 15 years ago, taken in Kingston, NY.  I'm on the left, Redhook (Brad) is on the right of Joe, and a friend of Brad is far right.  Good times!

One of my college room-mates was from Saugerties and always spoke highly of Mr Sinnot.  Evidently, he was very involved in the community and was beloved, aside from his day job.

This is a a sad day

I met Joe at a couple of comic conventions and was always polite, As a Marine and him being part of the Seabees, he was also great to talk military stories with. And of course his work was outstanding. Thank you Joe and Rest in Peace.

Rest in peace. Truly sad about their passing but at the same time very happy that they lived their lives to a ripe old age (and still part of the comic book scene till the end). Inkers rule!!
