CGC Grading Guidelines Over the Years

Hi all,

Have CGC's grading guidelines changed at all over the years?  I have a few slabs that have the original/1st gen labels which appear to have been graded rather strictly.  Of course I'm far from being a professional grader and have no knowledge of the interior or these books, but figured it was worth an ask.  Thanks!

CGCs grading standards are not really published. But collectors have honed their own to adapt Overstreet's published standards. Generally, CGC strictness has ebbed and flowed through the years. And generally I consider old blue and red labels to have come from a relatively strict period. Lately, I have observed CGC as being a little more lax, especially when they are swamped with SS submissions or summer con season (and stricter when they are not).
