I couldn't block the bidder who bid it up 30 times because...they were actively bidding.

In the end, that person won, and just sent a message saying they didn't bid that high and is confused, asking to cancel the sale.

Not sure if they're just a haphazard buyer, a total newbie, or it was a glitch on their end as well.

If you can still access it, go to the page that shows the bids on your item. Click on the high bidder's name. Not the feedback number, but the name itself, which is a link that will takeyou to a page that shows all of their bid activity with ebay, all sellers. If it appears that you're not the only one (and the sellers are seen as seller 1, seller 2, seller 3, etc.) that this user is bombardment-bidding, and there are others having their item(s) bid upon in the same manner that he is bidding on yours, then it's not a glitch, not an accident, and just a case of someone amusing themselves at the expense of ebay sellers, probably chosen at random.
