Direct edition copy of Superboy Annual #2 (3rd series).  This issue is a Year One story.

I believe this comic to be in Very Fine condition, or better.  There is very light blunting of the spine corners, as well as a few spine stress creases/ticks that barely break the ink.  Both covers show mild waviness that starts at the spine.  This is normal, but a press will help fix it.  The entire bottom right corner has a mild bend through the whole comic that barely breaks the ink on either cover.

I believe this comic to be in Very Fine plus condition, or better.  There is very light blunting of the spine corners, as well as a few spine stress creases/ticks that barely break the ink.  Both covers show mild waviness that starts at the spine.  This is normal, but a press will help fix it.  The back cover shows very light soiling or ink transfers near the staples, as well as a dimple indentation near the center of the page.  This will press out, but I’m not 100% certain that the ink isn’t broken…maybe just barely.

I believe this comic to be in Very Fine/Near Mint condition, or better.  There is very light blunting of the spine corners, as well as a couple spine stress creases/ticks that very lightly break the ink.  Both covers show mild waviness that starts at the spine.  This is normal, but a press will help fix it.  The back cover shows a couple of mild, vertical indentations that can be pressed out.  They don’t break the ink.

I believe this comic to be in Very Fine plus condition, or better.  There is very light blunting of the spine corners, as well as a small number of spine stress creases/ticks that barely break the ink.  The back cover has a small amount of very mild indentations and/or bends that don’t break the ink.  There is a mild spine roll as well.  This comic will benefit from a press.

Superboy and the Ravers #14.  This issue is a Genesis crossover, and it features appearances by numerous Superman comic book characters.

I believe this comic to be in Very Fine/Near Mint condition, or better.  There is very light blunting of the spine corners, as well as a couple spine stress creases/ticks that barely break the ink.  The front cover shows a very mild edge bend on the upper page edge that doesn’t break the ink.  There is also a very mild spine/stacking roll that can be pressed out.

Don Pendleton’s Mack Bolan: The Executioner #1.  This comic is the ‘indestructible’ variant cover.  The cover is made from a tear-resistant material with a trade dress image on the front and a virgin image on the back.  I don’t know about anyone else, but I read this books in my adolescent years because my mother would bring them home from the library she worked at.  This is how my voracious reading habit started.  I stopped reading Mack Bolan after reading my first actual novel…Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’.  I still have a bunch of M.B. books in a box somewhere.  They were always in paperback so they were easy to carry around.

I believe this comic to be in Near Mint condition, or better.  This comic shows hardly any wear on the spine, and no tears at the staples.  There is very light blunting on the bottom spine corners, as well as a couple spine stress creases/ticks that barely break the ink.  My opinion on pressing this book is....don't.  I think the tear-resistant material could be faded by heat, or even melt.  I'm not a pressing expert, so don't quote me on this.

There are a few superficial scratches on the back of the slab near the top spine corner of the book.  I can't feel them with my fingers, so they are very mild.  The back cover also appears to show some small scuffs in a handful of spots.  I believe these are inside the material.  I have adjust my price well below the last sale of this variant, which was $75 (doesn't include shipping).

I believe this comic to be in Very Fine minus condition, or better.  There is very light blunting of the spine corners (except the top corner), as well as one or two spine stress creases/ticks that very lightly break the ink.  Unfortunately, this book suffered drop/bend damage that shows near the top spine corner on both covers.  The bends themselves don’t break the ink on the covers, but they did cause ink-breaking spine ticks…though pretty small.  The spine near the top corner shows some wear…it is not ripped.  A press will help.  I believe I'm being overly conservative on my grade estimate because of the bent corner.  Again, I think a press will get this comic to a higher grade.
