Just wondering about signatures on comic books... - do you know if CGC is able to verify a signature outside of In-House signings? For example, I'm interested in an Amazing Spiderman #300 that is signed my McFarlane (raw), they aren't able to give it a gold label unless they know where the signature was done or took place? Does anyone know what happens if you send in a book to be graded and slabbed that has been signed but no proof of the signature?  Does it recieve a blue label, or or they able to verify the signature and put a gold label on it? Any information would be quite helpful, thank you ladies and gentlemen

Does CGC grade autographed books?

Yes, under the following circumstances: CGC’s prestigious Signature Series label (yellow) is applied to comic books that have been signed under the direct observation of a CGC employee or a select CGC authorized witness, or in select instances where CGC accepted signed books directly from the signer / publisher. The signatures are authenticated by CGC, and the labels indicate who signed the book, the date it was signed and, in some cases, the location where it was signed. If a book is signed without a CGC representative present, it will receive a Qualified label (green), and will receive a Qualified grade.
