It sounds as if more that half of this week's O/A is all from you.  Slightly nosy, but did you have any choice in that decision (all at once, versus spread across 3 or 4 auctions)?

I've been bidding on some of the strip art and have had my eye on the "V" cover as well.  Hopefully everything goes well for you!

I like it all at once. It usually doesn’t compete with itself, I have a ton of material coming up over the next few weeks too but this the single biggest. The V cover was pretty awesome. It has a lot of watchers too so I’m happy with that. Few lots going low, some folks will get a deal or two out of this I’m sure but I figure what it sells for is market since everyone had a chance to see it and bid.

Best of luck to you on everything.  I can imagine a benefit of consigning a lot of stuff all at once is that you're not too emotionally caught up with a single piece, since some stuff will inevitably go higher than you expected and offset the lots that go lower than you hoped for. 

Speaking of going higher than expected (or in my case, hoped), I've tapped out on the Nancy daily and the '54 Pogo (that's a really nice one with a funny gag and I always loved the carnival/circus word balloons Kelly used for Bridgeport), but am glad to have helped push 'em up for you.

The Nancy daily blows my damn mind. I expected 350-400. Hell the Sunday is becoming a steal price in comparison. The pogo I knew would hit hi, it’s like the Nancy: elite and vintage. That always moves well.

I like seeing all the smalls go at once. A few covers and pieces could have been in signature Friday or Saturday but honestly I like weekly auctions better. Lot of eyes, good description, and not a ton of competition. Monday’s a good night too.

Legit congratulations on the final hammer prices.  I'm not sure if everything finished strong, but $6.6K for the "V' cover hopefully exceeded your expectations, $2K+ for the Nancy daily obviously did, and the '54 Pogo strip I mentioned might be the highest closing price for a post-40s daily they've ever had.

It was...a good auction overall...pieces I offered on caf for less overperformed. I have just learned HA is where it’s at.

I saw the live action on that V cover. Wow. 
 

I was an early bidder on the Kupperberg Spider-Ham. If I’m not mistaken didn’t that sell on eBay late last year? I was hoping to get it way under sale price  but when it came up all the proxy bids kicked in higher than my max and before I could even focus—whoosh—bidding closed. Big lesson learned. Funny how all the other lots move slow af until mine comes up

Everything performed well this time, well one piece bombed hard but it was the odd man out.

I picked up one piece I screwed up sniping on ebay earlier this year so was happy to have another chance.

heavy metal painting. Beyond rare painting from one of the first 10 issues. Double page awesome violent image....sells for 250 bucks?!?! i paid a lot more then that for it. Guess no one cares about HM anymore, at least not early days art that isnt Moebius and such. I dont think you could find let alone touch a page from that early for under a grand, not a full painted one. Someone made out on that one.

Normally I would have been interested in that but it looked more "preliminary" and it was in watercolor and not a scene that interested me. Still you did very well. Your  Joe Chiodo page went for a lot more than I would have expect for what the content was. It did have nice colors but there are a number of pages available for significantly less (but most are hanging out overseas).

Yeah that was the original. it was the only early HM painting i've seen for sale in years, and it went for a fraction of its true value IMO. Someone straight up stole that.

As for Chiodo, i've really had luck with him in those auctions. I think that was a great box checker. it looked great and it had all the elements you would want from the book.
