Well, for his latest two pieces of tripe, Lucas was missing a main protagonist, a villain, a story, a -script, a director, capable actors, the list goes on and on.

If Liam Nisan isn't a capable actor then I don't know who is?

I just bought a Hulk 102 9.0 based solely on speculation. Any thoughts as to whether this was a good or bad decision. smirk.gif

I'd be looking for raw Hulks from about 210-315 for the following reasons:

1) They are HARD to find in grade

2) NOBODY bought them (Peter David talks about how when he took over Hulk with there were NO letters to the editor)

3) Right now they are VERY cheap relative to other Marvels in the time period. You can probably pick up a full NM run for maybe $150-200 (if you can find them).

Doubling or tripling your money is a lot easier when you're paying $2 each...

Issues before these are also relatively cheap compared to other Marvel titles and hard to find in nice shape. There's one battle issue with the Hulk vs. Abomination and the Rhino which is underpriced in the guide as well. Can't remember the number exactly...maybe #171?

Oh so true - any book is a good investment at the right price! wink.gif As for the Hulks between 210-315, they're tough to find allright...cause they were pretty bad frown.gif .

As for investment/speculation in comic books based on the movie, I would look for the 1st Doc Samson, Abomination, and/or the Leader. These characters are all gamma-spawned, which entwines them in the Hulk mythos, and could easily be planted in this movie as minor characters to re-appear as major villains in Hulk 2 ('05). The antagonists for this film appear to be 1) himself (love it); 2) his hard-drinking/abusive father (hate it), 3) THE GAMMA-SPAWNED HULK DOGS FROM HELL (why, man, why frown.gif ), and 4) Talbot/Ross (true, true).

I heard initially that Crusher Creel was going to be in it, but that rumor died.

Good call - 171 has a great, red cover featuring the Hulk about to be sandwiched between a hard-charging Rhino and the immovable Abomination!!! This book was reprinted with an accompanying audio record by Power Records, and yes, I still have my original copy from the 70's wink.gif

I used to have one of those single-piece all-in-one junkers with an attached turntable. I dunno what it would be worth today but it wasn't worth much when I had it wink.gif I still have my LPs though - and they'll probably last longer than my CDs grin.gif

I don't think Hulk 102 is a good investment choice right now as it's pretty much at an all-time high for the book. It was originally passed over b/c a lot of people didn't see it as the beginning of the series.

My take on Hulk 102 as a speculative investment pertaining to the movie is that it is an origin issue with the best transformation cover - and that, I think, will be factors for people to zero in on once the movie is released. JMHO. crazy.gif
