This is very cool; maybe by the time these books go to market I can afford at least one of the Batman books.

An interesting tidbit is that when he first found the collection, he brought a few down to SDCC and showed Steve Borock and Mark Haspel and they wanted him to grade the collection with the then fledgeling CGC and they wanted to pedigree it at that time.  He said that he didn't feel like they qualify as a true pedigree so he declined at that time.  I know most of those books pictured in the articles were previously graded for years so they weren't recent gradings.

@lou_finewould probably be the person with the most access to these books in the past so he can shed more light into the collection.

Although the Chinatown Marvel Mystery #66 (9.6) has yet to be recorded in the CGC Census.  OTOH, the bragging rights for this pedigree have been hot-footed out at warp speed.  .

I love the writing and the chops on these. When did you buy this? And was it raw?

It was already graded, and I bought it here on the boards a couple of years ago (at least).

To me, the Chinese characters make this one incredibly cool ... please pardon me for "waxing fanboy". GOD BLESS....

I remember reading about this collection many years ago. Has a cool back story. Not surprised so many are in high grade since it was like the Church collection, owned by an adult. 

Very cool that it has been hung on to, intact. Sounds like a big splash coming up soon in a large auction. 

I would love to just own one. Even if only a “lower grade” funny animal. It would need to have the markings on it though. 

Have any turned up in the CGC census yet?

I wish my low grade books looked like that!

The 'Chinatown' pages smell like sandalwood ... either that or I was downwind of greggy at the time.

Very nice Allan. Now I wished I bought a raw lower grade book from that collection
