I've been wanting some pre-code horror for a long time but I'll just never get a good collection of the originals going. Does anyone know some good reprint collections I can try tracking down?

You can't go wrong with the EC reprints of Tales from the Crypt/ Vault of Horror/ Haunt of Fear.  I personally would go for the EC archives, several are available on Comixology if digital is good.

Atlas is a bit trickier, I would start with the MENACE Marvel Masterworks edition... I think it had a much higher hit ratio than most of the atlas horror books.  Once again, available both in digital or print.

If you don't mind digital, a LOT of the rest is at

https://digitalcomicmuseum.com/

A good starting place there is Harvey, most of the Harvey Horror has been scanned.  And everything at the DCM is public domain and free.

Hope that helps some!

I can't recommend this one enough.  Great repro's of covers, commentary and a sampling of stories from many different artists and companies.

https://www.amazon.com/Four-Color-Fear-Forgotten-Horror/dp/1606993437/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=forgotten+fear&qid=1598100885&sr=8-3

The series from Craig Yoe focuses on one artist at a time but does a great job with each one, including this on Lou Cameron

https://www.amazon.com/Camerons-Unsleeping-Chilling-Archives-Horror/dp/163140931X/ref=sr_1_1?crid=35ZZZ3YY2UMBE&dchild=1&keywords=lou+cameron's+unsleeping+dead&qid=1598101053&sprefix=lou+camer%2Caps%2C161&sr=8-1

Many of the pre-code horror titles have been reprinted by PS Artbooks but some available only at a premium price unless you find a nice used edition.

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=PS+Artbooks+Ltd&i=stripbooks&ref=nb_sb_noss

There are a variety of anthologies that are reasonably priced as well:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/1684054532?psc=1&pf_rd_p=995e9308-9761-4a71-9419-82fd033b88fd&pf_rd_r=XMZ0Q60D6GM7GF5BS791&pd_rd_wg=vdDXy&pd_rd_i=1684054532&pd_rd_w=H4W9Z&pd_rd_r=e3c7ad9e-1fc9-4e9b-9e45-a2ead05b48fa&ref_=pd_luc_rh_crh_rh_sbs_sem_01_03_t_img_lh

This is just a start.  A huge chunk of pre-code horror is available in reprinted in color, often at very reasonable prices.

Tales to Terrible to Tell is also a great source. Each issue focused on a different publisher if I remember it correctly. Google it.

The text and history are excellent but the stories are reprinted in b&w and often mediocre fare.
