Hello, gentle people of the CGC community. I'm excited that I just bought one of my big grail books! Hurray!

And now I need to figure out how to pay for it! :flamed:

I've been buying and selling on the forums here since 2012, but I never kept up much with my kudos thread, so it's pretty empty. Still, I think most of you know who I am. And yes, there will be romance in this thread.

1.  :takeit:  in thread trumps PM conversations.

2. In the case of multiple PMs, or take its, I will go by time stamp.

3. no HoS/probation people please. I'm Crimebuster, not Crimeenabler

4. unless otherwise noted, shipping is $8 for the first 3 books, and then an additional $1 per book above that for U.S. buyers.

I will also ship to Canada I guess, but god only knows how much that will cost these days. My guess is at least $20, so if you're from Canada and want something, let me know and we can try to figure it out.

Unfortunately, this is U.S. and Canada only, so my apologies to other international buyers.

Shipping is through the USPS.

5. Paypal only! Thanks.

6. please pay promptly, I have a crimefighting monkey sidekick to feed

7. If there's any kind of issue with the books, let me know within one week of receiving it and we can figure out some kind of return. But I don't anticipate any issues!

So, I decided to give up on my dreams of completing a run of Pep Comics. As a result I am selling off 191 issues! Broken into three lots - this collection is almost the whole run from #177-411. These are all Silver, Bronze, and Copper books, nothing before 1965. But I am pricing them below cost, so hopefully they will find a good home with someone who love to read Archie books!

Pep Comics lot 1 - Silver Age reader lot - 30 issues - $75 shipped in U.S.

This lot includes the following low grade reader issues of Pep Comics:  177, 180, 181, 184, 186, 187, 190, 194, 196, 197, 198, 199, 202, 203, 205, 206, 207, 208, 209, 211, 214, 219, 222, 223, 224, 225, 226, 228, 230, 231

Taking a short break, then I will be back with some of the big individual issues. I don't see any sign of Comcav yet, so this may be your big chance!

Do me a favor and buy those lots while I'm getting a beverage. They are dirt cheap, I'm losing money on all of them, I just need them out of my sight so the pain doesn't become crippling.

Pep Comics lot 3 - 114 issues - $145 shipped

This is the big one, literally. The shipping on this is going to be a monster, which is why I included it in the price.

I hate to break this up, though, because it was a pain in the butt to put together.

This lot includes the full run of Pep Comics #300-411, plus Archie Giant Series #576 and 589, which continued the Pep line after the title was cancelled.

Some of these are nicer in grade since they are copper age. Some of these are also a real pain to find! But my loss is your gain.

Okay, I'm back.

New policy: anyone who buys something from me is allowed to attempt to initiate a bromance. No promises, though.

These sales threads always take forever, so I'm not sure how much I will get through before I'm too pooped to party. But coming up in this thread will be some romance, a couple early Marvel SA superhero books, a couple Archie books, and works by a few people you might have heard of like L.B. Cole, Alex Schomburg, Matt Baker, Dan DeCarlo, Jim Steranko, etcv. And some Lichtenstein inspiration. Plus some other random stuff.

After I post some of the good stuff I'm going to change the thread title to reflect it, but for now, it's just our little secret.

Betty and Veronica #41 - CGC 7.0 - $840 shipped

This is tied with two other copies for second highest graded behind a single 7.5.

Classic cover by the great Harry Lucey.

I'm just guessing randomly at the price here, I don't even have GPA, so it's possible I just shot myself in the face. But hopefully this is a good deal for both you and me.

A couple notes: I have no idea if this has been pressed, I just know I didn't do anything to it, it's exactly as I received it. I have closeups of some of the defects - I can't see this getting a higher grade than it has. Big things are a small tear and crease bottom front right, small piece out of cover above logo, some overhang of fc and some overspray on back. Some slight tanning by the looks?

There are some faint smudge lines on the case itself I never noticed until just now. Not sure if they will clean off, but I don't want to mess with it.

SOLD!

Journey into Mystery #86 - 4.0 - $190

Fourth issue of Thor. This copy looks great! Looks like a 6.0, but it isn't. The two fefects of note: there's a tear on the fc through the word Thor that's a pretty good one - an inch and a half maybe. The other thing is there are actually a couple very faint cup rings on the FC where someone set a beverage on it. They aren't really noticeble even to the naked eye until you tilt the book to catch the light, so you can't really see it in the scans either.

SOLD!
