Just wanted to write this here because this is a seller and board member who was told BY CGC that there was an issue with the books he was selling having erroneously been blue label rather than purple and he was asked by CGC to send it back to them so they can give proper labels. Clearly, this seller does not want a purple label (after all, they knowingly took advantage of CGC's internal issues to get these restored books in blue labels) and is not sending his books back. I know people had their doubts and some asked for a second chance, well there you go. Just a warning about a scammer trying to sell some restored books knowingly. Here is the blue label trimmed spider-man book they are currently selling on e-bay. Of course, the fact that it is trimmed and not properly labelled is not in the description.

Scam?  Seems harsh as it is clear from the bidding that potential buyers so far know it is restored.  Plus CGC error labels are a thing so I don’t see why he has to return for relabeling.  I’d be a lot more comfortable with the listing if he mentioned the trimming as it’s glaring omission from the description could lead a buyer to think a fast one is being pulled. I’ve bought many times from this seller without a problem.

For a guy with over 4K feedback over a 10 year history on eBay, seems very questionable that there is absolutely no mention of the trimming other than the CGC label. Couple that with the fact that he has attempted this several times recently with the character labels and you get a true douchenozzle.

Guess we'll see where the bidding goes to see if everyone realizes it's restored.

CGC errors happen. It's unfortunate, and a problem, but this isn't a single random mistake. The character labels aren't supposed to be available on purple books, per CGC, but they've allowed a lot of restored books to get slabbed with blue labels this way. Even though CGC has said they stopped doing so.

The problem with this seller is that he knew there was a loophole and has submitted several tranches of restored books for grading and character labels specifically to get blue labels on purple books, then sells them without drawing attention to the tiny text that demonstrates what he did. Then makes vacuous legal threats when called out on it.

This was supposed to have been taken care of but i'm not surprised that it isn't. (shrug)

Sent him a message through eBay requesting he note that the book is restored in his description and to the existence of this thread. Guess his response or lack thereof will speak volumes.

Not as bad as buying purple books, cracking them out and selling them as raw (and not mentioning resto) but what he's doing is certainly adjacent.

He knows the books are purple.

He doesn't mention it in the description because it's in fine print on the label.

He knows some people will miss it and could end up paying blue prices for a purple book.

There are sins of commission, then there are sins of omission.

He's not lying, but he's not being clear in disclosing the truth. 

Just because you may have bought books from him in the past that were fine, doesn't absolve him of what he's doing now.

There is a no verify information mentality on these boards and it is quite sickening. It is easy to go along with the crowd. I hate crowds & am willing to go in the opposite direction; Many people on the boards need to grow a pair of balls. 

If you don't buy comics from me, that's a mutual loss. If everyone ridiculously gets the Dylan is evil disease, I will just sell to a few dealers so you are not really dodging a hypothetical bullet anyway. You would end up with the EXACT same books; You just wouldn't know.

If you buy comics from me, I will give you the absolute best customer service I can.

My opinion: CGC did not fck up here on the label. I do not believe the color touch was additive to the grade in anyway and should have been blue. These books were part of an original owner collection where the owner used marker for no fcking reason. I removed the marker that DID effect grade. Restoration is not restoration if it does not restore anything. They were not trimmed, you can see in the pictures that the edges are not short-that was a mistake by CGC.

I would appreciate a public apology from any ignorant person who said I was unethical. You didn't gather all the facts which is moronic.
