I should clarify that if he were a young man wanting to learn, who occasionally made mistakes, and even who maybe occasionally was mildly obstinate, but who showed a willingness to listen to experienced people trying to help him out then he'd be treated with far greater respect and patience.  He is none of those things, though. He thinks he knows it all, accepts NO constructive criticism whatsoever, and will fail at this business eventually. And maybe that's for the best, considering the mounting evidence of his character and temperament. I don't wish him personally any ill will. But I have a problem with someone like him crudding on the collecting community.

For sure.

If everyone in the comic community where aware of these forums, regardless of whether they bought into the concept of CGC or not, there would be a minimal amount of fraud and deception in the hobby. Unfortunately there are suckers literally everywhere, and where there is a sucker there is someone to exploit them.

NO. people created their expectations of price through making their own determination so what the seller says the book is doesn't matter.
