  Worlds of Fear #3
Fawcett Publications, 1952
White Pages!
CGC 7.5
Slight (C-1)

Here's something you don't see everyday, a crisp high grade copy of World's of Fear #3 (Fawcett, 1952)!

This issue is notoriously hard to find in high grade due to the amount of black on both the front and back covers, but this copy looks as if it was printed yesterday with colors that are super vibrant (pics really don't do this one justice). Also a rarity for this issue is the perfect cantering of the fantastic Sheldon Moldoff front cover art, as this run had some very wonky visually unappealing mis wraps/mis cuts on the books (which you can see on the back cover, but the front cover is perfect). Edges are SUPER sharp and crisp on this book, and the page quality is a legendary WHITE PAGES. This is the ONLY graded copy ever offered for sale that has pure WHITE page quality. All other certified copies of this issue have had lesser page quality, including the lone higher grade copy (CGC 9.0 Pedigree had OFF-WHITE pages), the next closest best being a lower CGC 7.0 that had "OFF-WHITE to WHITE" page quality (however that issues front cover suffered from a mis-wrap - see below).

There is some restoration by way of a "Small amount of color touch on cover", it is an extremely small amount located along the spine only (and it was predominantly located near the top staple, in fact the CT covers the staple making it blend into the solid black cover - something I actually think looks good. No bleed through into the interior comic).

This copy is one of the highest on census, tied with two other issues at 7.5 behind a lone 9.0. I encourage you to check out those copies on ha.com and compare the looks of those books to this one, as this copy even gives the 9.0 a run for its money (this copy has better edges/corners and PQ, though the 9.0 has a no mis-wrap on the back cover). Sorry about the reflections in the case, this one was crazy hard to photograph well. Not a good deal of GPA data on this issue, but a universal 7.0 sold last month on comic connect for $643us (see below for the visual appeal of that issue. This is one of those 'buy the book, not the grade' situations with how perfect the front cover presents on my copy).

Asking $640   $600

No offense man, but I don't think anyone is going to pay blue label price for a purple label.  Those usually get discounted 30-50% off of the price of the same grade in blue

True in most cases (especially when lots of past sales data exist on the GPA), but this is a grade point higher and it isn't like this book comes up often with a good looking aligned cover or with bone white pages (even in high grades like that 7.0 - they grade technically high, but have janky mis-wraps and other faults that make the visual presentation suffer). That is also my starting price, so I'm open to offers :)

I would be hella happy to buy any golden age pre-code books like this if someone is marking them down 50% for just super minor color touch (which you might find on universal GA books anyways) - I'll take all of those please :D

Gorgeous copy with great attributes and only Slight Color touch; I totally get both sides of the coin on this one.

One final long weekend price drop just because I have literally run out of space in my Golden Age CGC box and need room :D  NOW $600.

If it doesn't sell for $600 I'll just slot it back into the collection and buy another new storage box to fill up with even more comics  :applause:
