The Crumb Bukowski material sold well. I wanted all of it but the two I wanted the most, went for the most. It was nostalgia for me as a huge fan of Bukowski in particular.

I sadly came away empty handed but am glad the public recognized this work.

I do have a rare Bukowski poster done by Crumb and signed by Bukowski.

This auction really had a lot of eye opening moments. I think that big money is going towards that one example that makes everyone say Holy S !!!!

Ditko ASM

McFarlane ASM

Lee X Men Cover

Big dollars on I think very representative art. It’s also clear Watchmen joins Killing Joke in the “out of your league” pricing with this auction and the page Will G sold just recently.
The Ghost Rider Cover Wow!!!!

And again collectors hate reserves.

We want to compete.

That’s gotta drive HA crazy I assume they’d rather have a guarantee sale —but even unsold the Frazetta and Kirby FF 55 brought  drama and beauty to auction.

Production art color guide page goes for nearly 10K.

These would have gone for the low $20s if I hadn't been bidding.

I've always said that if you can't win a piece, the next best thing is to make the winner bleed for the privilege. (thumbsu

I can't believe I missed those, that's right up my alley!

Anyone else have any Bukowski "art" or anything?

I have some and a small library of poems.

I have the poster and two first edition autographed books I bought from Reds Baroque Bookstore back in the eighties.

This auction had a king's ransom of Alex Raymond Rip Kirby dailies to choose from.  I had my eye on this one in particular, but unfortunately I wasn't the only one.

If I ever needed a reminder that nice GGA pieces command a premium, this was it.  This particular lot went for $12K.  The next highest Rip Kirby hammered at $3K.

I was thinking this was probably my best chance for the next several years to get a Raymond. I was probably right, but alas, I did not get one.
