I thought this was a solid deal under 4k compared to other IG pages selling recently. Needed a Perez to pair with my Lim.

Congrats on scoring the Perez & Lim set!

Your page was a good win, considering IG prices still seem on a strong uptick (e.g. #4 page 28 fetched $11.7k versus $7.5k in May 2018).

Neal Adams Green Lantern 76 page - $20,750 - pretty good price given the content

All Star 14 panel page - $20,250 - really strong !

I used to own that Green Lantern 76 page. I tried like hell to get $7500-8000 for it about 10 years ago, and no one wanted it. Finally traded it to a dealer. Now it sells for almost 21k. Hot, hot market.

It was offered to me in late 2016/early 2017 for $20,000 in trade.

A few thoughts on the C-Link auction:

I'll say it again: the Broderick Green Lantern #1 cover really surprised me. It's a (semi-)iconic image, true, but it's a 1990 cover, the comic was written by Gerard Jones (who was convicted of child porn charges) and its from a revamp that wasn't highly-regarded by a lot of GL fans. I was just really caught off-guard by this one and I honestly thought it would sell for a third of the final price. Have any of the 1980s Green Lantern covers sold this high?

I thought the Secret Defenders cover for $2500 was a bargain and will be priced at more than double that if (when) it hits a dealer's website.

Budd Root Cavewoman art continues to boggle my mind with the prices it gets. There's so much of it out there and, although it is pretty art, I'm always amazed that these pieces sell so high.

The high prices of Cable covers is also impressive to me. Is it Cable or Ian Churchill that causes these to sell so high? I wish I'd bought a few when I could have at much cheaper prices. Cable pages, however, continue to sell very low, as the Cable #28 page 1 splash by Wilfred Santiago ending at $180 shows.

The Venom #9 variant cover by Philip Tan was a strong number at $5,655. It's a great image by a good artist, but I thought it would sell in the $3500-$4000 range.

Is it just me or is there a major lack of Frank Miller pieces hitting these auctions lately? Is everyone sitting on Miller art, waiting and hoping it will skyrocket like McFarlane art has?

TMNT art got some really strong prices. I just read the first 12 issues for the first time in November and the series is quite good, especially those earlier stories, so this isn't as much of a surprise as it used to be for me. Being new to that market, is there a big TMNT original art collecting group or just a few people who are rabid for early pages and pinups?

As great as Bryan Hitch's art was on Ultimates and everything else he draws, I'm always surprised by how low his art sells.

Same with Bart Sears. Why isn't there more love for Sears art?

I can remember when Rik Levins Captain America art was hard to sell. The Cap splash selling for $1,600 was a solid number, I thought.

And, for the prices that Mike Mayhew charges for his art, I seriously hope that the sellers of those three pieces didn't pay full price for them, because, if they did, they suffered some seriously big losses. Yikes, two of those went very cheap, especially with Venom being so popular right now.

Great page, I chased to 20k and regret not going higher.  On CAF, Will G had this one (posted 2016) and Richard Martines has 4 other GL76 pages (one is an Oath page :cloud9:).  A rarity at auction in contrast to several Neal Adams Avengers pages in recent auctions.  I have a GL84 page (Wrightson inks) with GL76 and GL85 (heroin story) remaining on my want list.

I had been seeing Neal Adams pages and covers sell low over the last year, do these high sales mean the Adams market is back on the rise?

And I originally sold it for Neal in 1976 for $250.

Nice to see it appreciate a bit.

I hope so :wishluck:   Recent Heritage sales of Avengers 93 pages, a chapter splash ($31k) and Antman page ($20k), suggest a healthy uptick from the market even 2 years ago.   A fun litmus test is Avengers 93 p28 upcoming in Heritage's Jan 2021 auction...I'd compare with p24, a strikingly similar page which sold for $13k at Heritage in 2018.  I'm thinking 30-50% increase which would be a strong result.

Disclosure: I'm not to owner of either page and not planning to bid on the page 24..

I think it depends on the piece (now there's a quality observation! lol ). If it's the RIGHT Adams, it will sell for big numbers. Batman, Xmen, Avengers, Green Lantern is always a good bet. After that, it's GOT to be a really strong image to make people pay up. I personally would still LOVE to get my hands on one of his great Tarzan paintings, and I could care less about Tarzan! LOL
