When submitting a comic for signing, can you request a certain color of marker? I want to send in a sketch comic but black would just blend in. Thanks!

Generally, yes you can make a request.  BUT whether they follow the request may depend on the signer, the facilitator, the color of pens available, luck, etc.  And in some cases, request might not be allowed, or might cost extra, there are no guarantees, etc.  I advise you to contact the facilitator of whatever signing event you're interested and ask them their specific policy regarding these types of requests, and then decide if it's worth it for you.  

There definitely have been situations in the past where color requests have been ignored (for one reason or another) and people end up paying for signatures that cannot be seen very easily.  Its not hard to see a situation where the signer has signed a thousand copies carefully today and is dead tired, hungry, and has to use the restroom, has like 20 left before he gets to leave, and just plows through the final 20 (or 50, or 100) without much thought or desire to think about placement or color of sig.
