First, there is not enough room in the sleeve to enable the comic to fold like that during shipping. The comic would have had to shift upwards, and then back down to do that damage. There being no room up top, it could not have lifted. Had to have happened during encapsulation, imo, and CGC should be liable for replacing your comic with an equivalent.

Yeah, I saw that, too.  Seems to explain the situation fairly clearly. 

Somebody probably paid the seller compensation, either the carrier or CGC, presuming it was insured.   Anything he can sell it for is gravy.

The comic book also likely got gravy on it considering how much it has suffered.
