Moisture damage, rippling, warping

Hi all,

I wonder if it's worth cracking this slab and having it pressed again to improve the grade.

The book has already been pressed once but not cleaned (oupsie).

Do you think it would make a difference ? Has anyone done this with a grade boost?

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback.

So you're saying the ASM 129 could be improved to maybe a 6.0 or 6.5 with a proper press ?

The dirt and rippling can be removed. Whether that results in a grade bump is up to CGC.

Those can definitely be pressed out but the dirt may be embedded from the last presser not cleaning the book first. I can see an improvement in the book though if done properly

The book can still clean up. A pressing doesn't magically make the dirt a part of the book.

True, which is why I said “may”, but good practice is not taking that chance in the first place where you could potentially make things worse. 😉
