Eisner Exhibit & Art of Comics Con Utah!

CELEBRATING THE ART OF COMICS!

This fall the Woodbury Art Museum will host its longest running exhibit yet, The Art of Comics. Featuring art from Batman, Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man, X-Men, Wonder Woman, Flash Gordon, Tracy, Zorro, and many others, the art work has been gathered from across the United States and includes celebrated artists like Will Eisner, Jack Kirby, and Dave McKean.

 

“Celebrating the Art of Comics” is a family-oriented day-long event held in conjunction with the exhibit. This event will be on Oct. 15, and will include a costume contest, silent auction of original comic art, workshops, games, prizes, panel discussions, and the opportunity to interact with twelve of the comic industries top creators currently working in the field. These creators have worked on Smallville, Spider-Man Movies 2 & 3, Batman, Disney, Power Puff Girls, Superman, Men in Black, Witchblade, and Invincible Ed, among many others. (Please see attached schedule for details.) There will also be an interactive gaming room with representational vendors and Kerry Jackson from X96 to help kick off the event. Entrance fee is only $2/person or $5/family. This is an event for all ages and not to be missed!

 

UVSC’s Woodbury Art Museum, is located on the second level of the southeast corner of the University Mall between Nordstrom and Gap, is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with extended hours Wednesday to 8 p.m. All exhibits are free and open to the public. *Creator Q&A Panels – the audience asks questions to the creators about their lives and work

 

*Draw Off -fun competition among artists where they quickly draw a word or phrase – drawings raffled off
