Maybe you should stop and read what you’re talking about before posting on a FB thread. Had nothing to do with thr grade but the face that this was supposed to be an error book due to a printing error.  They offered to look at it again and said the same thing.

Don’t even see how these two books relate but because of a few posts suddenly I’m the #%@&!

I was wrong about the surfer book. I admitted I was wrong but still, people won’t let it go. 
 

on a FB I posted about a Spawn error book that CGC said was fade. I don’t agree and it was a popular opinion. But hey, someone saw fit to drag that here so whatever. Guess everyone agrees with CGC all the it. Got it.

Every time you post you seem to be up on the cross about CGC wronging you in some fashion, and then you subsequently end up being wrong about the whole situation.  Maybe, just maybe, if you put the six shooters back in the holster and tone down the hyperbole from 11, folks around here might warm up to you.

I disputed it was a printing error and someone from CGC had me send it back for additional evaluation.  They still claim it's fade but depending on you talk to, some said that was impossible while others agreed with CGC.  Doesn't matter now.

Not the greatest notes, but they do help to explain the grades. A 9.0 often has some light dents or bends which bring it down to that level and it may benefit from a press. The 6.5 is probably not worth the trouble, especially if the creasing and spine stress break color...

On the contrary, I've personally disagreed with CGC on several occasions. I just prefer not to post it on this forum, because I feel it's impolite (after all, we're only guests here). Still, my goal is to offer what I hope is sound advice and help other members if I can.

So in this latest example, we have a mid grade Spawn #9 from 1993. A quick search of recent eBay listings shows multiple high grade certified copies for sale starting for under $100, and the sold section shows several Near Mint copies that ended up selling for around $50 or less. So unless there is something really special about your copy, your chances of making a profit are limited here. From what I read in your post, you were gambling that this was a printing error. To be honest, that seems like a pretty big gamble to take, but let's explore this strategy a bit. If you compare your copy to a normal one, you'll notice that not only is the front cover moderately faded, a large section of the back cover appears to be quite faded as well. The printing errors I've seen with regard to cover colors being diminished are always completely uniform in their lack of certain colors; in other words, the entire cover is affected, not just a portion of it. To be honest, your copy looks like it was exposed to sunlight or some other harsh light source which caused most of the cover color to dissipate, but not all of it. Moreover, books with a flaw like the one you were hoping for will generally receive a Qualified label, which in my mind doesn't automatically boost their desirability. From what I understand, there's a much smaller group of collectors interested in such oddities, and a lot depends upon how much they're willing to spend for a book like that. It may be cool, but it's not necessarily valuable. But since you came up empty on both the grade and the error, your copy is basically worthless. Please understand that one of the most important steps toward being successful with any of your submissions is to do your homework. You certainly could have posted the book on this forum to get a better idea of what you had and saved yourself time, trouble and money.
