Oh Good Grief, Charlie Brown, close that carefully and never; and never means never, ever, open the book all the way like that again!  If there are splits waiting to happen, if the paper is weak at the staples, opening it like this is not advisable!!  Nice paper quality, though. That's what saved the spine here from breaking up more where those rifts are. Superior paper quality. Sound, no tendency to be brittle at all, and you can see that most readily by the heat of the colors and the ink quality of those bright colors on the splash. Usually off-gassing or pulp paper breaking down kills the colors. Mutes the contrast adversely. This is a beautiful book. Thanks for showing it, it's great to see one with this kind of paper and ink preservation; most are not!  (worship)

Thanks- it wasnt stressing the spine tho- it basically just falls open like that - but point made.
