The First Comic You Ever Purchased?

My first interaction with comic books was when I was about 6 years old.  Didn't know they existed previously.  Had a hernia operation and when I woke up in the hospital room some family members were there and several people brought small toys or gifts.  One of them was a a sealed "grab bag" assortment of Marvel books.  i think it had about 10 in there.  Random issues.  F4, Surfer, Hulk, ASM, Dr. Strange.  I had to stay there a bit so I read them all.  I especially liked how they smelled.  When I got home I started demanding them and when I found a local comic store I used to go there every day after school.  Can't remember the first one I bought with my own money, but it was a solid decade of comic-collecting degeneracy after that hospital grab bag.

First I bought?  Pretty sure it was a couple of 3 Pack of GI Joe comics at Toys R Us...   I had some assorted comics but these were the first I bought.

I know the first Spider-man comic I bought was Web 26

I know the first ASM comic I bought was ASM Annual 21 and ASM 292.  They were on the newsstand at the same time.

I've thought about this many times and I don't have a clue what the first comic I bought was, or even what my initial introduction to comics was. From the time I was a baby my mother always read to me, and as soon as I could read on my own, she started taking me to the library every week to pick out new books, so I'm assuming somewhere along that journey comic books came into the mix. If I had to guess it would probably be a three pack from Kmart, as those are the earliest comic buying memories I can recall.

My very first book was Daredevil 187. Then after a while, I stopped collecting. 15 years later I got back into it when I popped into a store just for nostalgia and got my second first book, Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk #1.

I'm almost totally positive it was this one

because I remember the conversation and my mom saying

"You don't really want that do you?"

and the attendant not being able to answer me if they had #1, cause evidently that what interested me as a 7 year old

The first I purchased for myself was

Deadpool Circle Chase #1

My first comics were a 6 issue Amazing Spider-Man subscription - still remember getting these in the mail and reading them to my friends.  I was 8 years old.

No wonder you ended up a lifelong comics fan, being brought up on quality like this; Big Wheel, Rocket Racer, White Chicken (sorry, Dragon.)

A classic period. Recall it well myself.

Issue 287 by Jim Starlin is also pretty good.

I don't remember the very first comic - it was probably Casper, Richie Rich or Archie.  But, I do remember quite vividly the first Marvel book I bought.  It was Fantastic Four #204 - its cover, art and colors really drew me in.  I had never been attracted to Marvel previously, but it was a whole new world that opened up for me that day.

1971, I bought Mr. Miracle #2 for 10c as a used back issue from a used book and porno shop in the low rent district. Their wall comic was a Silver Surfer #1 for a lofty 50c that was a lot of loot that I had to earn by collecting and returning Coke bottles (b4 tin cans).

I can't remember specifically. My brother read allot of punisher and X-Men, so I got the hand me downs.

As a collector, the very first book I bought was a silver surfer #1 I still have. I didn't really know the hobby and the book has amatuer resto that either wasn't disclosed or I didn't know enough to care back then. But I still have it and will likely keep it forever.
