These were 2 keys I wanted that I was able to cross off the list in 2020. I got great deals on the 2 CGC books, well below FMV, my LCS gave me some amazing deals this year.

 

Wanted to get Damian's first cameo, only a matter of time before he shows up in a movie and the prices start going up so wanted to grab this while it was still cheap. I found 2 Miles Hip Hop variants earlier in the year for $2 each and sold one to fund this purchase and some.

Same as the above, Deathstroke will come in a movie eventually plus he is an awesome character, cameo of Trigon is a nice little add on. I got 3 copies of Venom First Host #3 2nd print during a buy 1 get one free, so got 2 copies for basically free while the other was cover price, sold one to fund this puchase.

Last one was the last expensive Artgerm book I needed for my collection and another key DC book that I wanted. It has some issues on the back and needs a press but I got it at a great price and didn't want to walk away from that deal

Spent most (if not all) of 2020 replacing my collection after selling a ton of it off back in 2017. A big portion was purchased at the tail end of last year but these are the stand-outs for this year:

i might have spent more money on a few other books in 2020, but i am choosing these 4 as my biggest pickups of the year, mainly because they are all norrin radd related. 

all of these were slabbed and i cracked the 3 surfers out myself, but bought the ff48 already cracked from a boardie. there is a great joy in liberating beautiful books from slabs, i must say. i only did this because i have higher grade copies of the surfers already slabbed, and i am putting together a collection of raws as well, for kicks. the ff48 was a 7.0, the ss1 was a 6.5, ss3 was a 7.5 and ss4 was an 8.0

it was a very surfer heavy year for me! happy new year to all boardies everywhere!

My top three of 2020.  

• Really excited to grab the Showcase 4 at a good price and to have it to offset my AF15.
• Excited to get the ASM 1 re-slabbed and possibly pressed and cleaned.
• Got really lucky to find a WHITE BB28 in a decent grade.

It has been a rough year but this forum and great sellers and buyers were definitely a high point.  HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Ok, did a lot of "trapped in the house, bored out of mind" buying this year, but heres my top 3 with appologies to the River City Copy of Space Adventures #1 and my ASM 129 tripple sig.

#3 Space Adventure Charlton File Copies.

Back in the summer this woman on ebay decided to unload the boxes of Charlton File copies she had bought back whem their warehouse shuttered. I was able to pickup what I thought were the three best looking copies of Space Adventure she had and got them submitted to CGC. Alas one had a stain ans got hammered, but the other two came back as highest graded and Im thrilled to add them to my registry leading Space Adventures collection

 

#2 Okajima Camp Code book.

Some of you know my love for the Okajima pedigree (if not go check out our 60+ page thread over in the Golden Ages subforum). I lucked into this book one night here on the boards. Usually Okajima camp books get snagged fast, but for some reason this one was still sitting in a thread when i noticed it at 4am during a bout of insomnia. Great Camp code and with a "war effort" themed cover to boot! This is my 4th Okajima camp book, and hopefully not the last.

 

#1. Moebius sketch

I lived in Europe for a time and really grew to love the work of Moebius (partially cause I couldnt read the French text so I just had to enjoy the art!) Ive tried and failed to win a few different Moebius pieces over the years, but this one didnt elude me! His classic Stargazer character sketched inside one of his hardcover books.
