Maybe I’m misremembering...i did go to one convention in NYC years later with my son...early 2000s...so maybe then? Just doesn’t sound right. He’s a very hot artist known for Amazing Spider-Man. He’s also known for Savage Dragon. That’s a neat keepsake though.
