Hmmm

CGC9.6 + minor Overspray = CGC9.6

This is the one that answered what I was asking.

This one shows an example of what I feel is the most common looking overspray.

9.6..... that's not bad.  I would have thought it would have been more.

It would have been a 10 otherwise...  :insane:

I had a Spider-Man 122 that structurally was a 9.4 but all the edges had thick DS covering them. Came back an 8.0.

Do you still have a pic?

Are you saying top, bottom, AND free edge all had DS?

Almost seems like a "qualified" comic.   I wonder if a Green Label 9.4 could be considered in a case like that?

I doubt I still have a scan but I will look.

From what I understand someone held a an aerosol can of spray paint and went across the tops of the books.  Due to holding the can and distance from the books, some got a heavy amount of ink that soaked the paper, some more of a dry dusting.  If you had a book on top of the stack like the Hulk 181 example, the employee continued into the front cover.

If it looks like someone brushed the ink versus spraying it on, it likely was done as a return marking.
