Bob owns the local comic book store in my area and he's also is my roommate currently.  When I first met him over a decade ago I asked him what he collected.  He told me it was 1950's DC sci-fi stuff.  Adam Strange in particular is his favorite.  He's owned comic stores since the early 1980's and when people sold them their collections, he would always keep this stuff for himself because he loves it.  Recently he told me he's going to try and sell all of it at his store.  I asked him if I could scan them before he sold them off.  He agreed and brought home 6 short boxes of unbelievably cool stuff.  I wish I could afford these #1's. That's why Bob is crazy.  If I was him, I'd keep these for myself.  What do you think of the date stamps on the Mystery in Space?

I'm somewhat surprised by them actually.  The cover date is Apr/May and as such I would have expected a February or March date stamp - not ones dated April 14  - all assuming that the Apr 14 date stamps are the originals...

Interesting.  This isn’t the original copy Bob had as a youngster.  His childhood collection got lost in a house fire.  He had a run of showcases bought off the rack (including #4) that were turned to ash.  So sad.  Anyway, I’ll ask him if he remembers where the MIS #1 came from when he gets home from work.
