Colour Error On Cover?

Hello CGC community!

I was hoping someone could help me out and tell me what happened to this book..

I have a Secret Wars #1 with a funky cover. It is otherwise in NM condition. Just curious if anyone can tell why this happened and if it will take a hug hit during the grading process (ie get a green label or something).

It doesn't feel any different running my finger across it. Makes me think it is a printing error.

Thank you!

Is it newsstand or direct?  if it's direct, I would think printing error; if it's newsstand, it might be an error when the distributor was marking the tops of the books or something...

I would think long and hard before bothering to submit it; unless it's for your own collection.  The eye appeal could drop any value on the book even if the technical grade is high.

It looks like a printing error to me Gazelle - quite similar to the fairly common dotty black Marvel Super Action #1 error:

Cap really needs to wash his face there, doesn't he. Talk about letting the side down...

I know Cap is from a different age and all, but I'm surprised to see him in  blackface.  Shame on him.
