Thoughts on regrading older slabs

I’ve never turned in a slab for a regrade, I have a 9.2 X-Men 94 that to me looks to be a 9.4 maybe a 9.6 if I’m lucky. However, I can also see the justification of a 9.2...that being said this was graded in 2006 and I’m curious as to what people think on the grading standards within different timelines, as I’ve read some differing ideas. I also know that it’s difficult to tell in the slab, but I’ve added some pictures for more possible clarity.

2006 was a year of tight grading, I love all the CGC books that I did purchase that were graded during that period.

That being said, if you want to keep it, why resubmit? Unless you want to sell it I would say leave it like that (and you probably will avoid those Newton rings anyway).

That color breaking wear on the top spine and top right corner, along with the color breaking spine stress lines on the front cover are probably why it received a 9.2. If you had the grader notes, there may be something else that's tough to see in the holder that contributed to the grade. This is a very nice copy that you should be happy to own---a strong 9.2. :golfclap:

It’s a shoot.  It depends on whether or not it’s worth the extra investment, whether it’s for resale or your personal collection.  I can see this copy being a 9.2...a 9.4 might be a stretch.  IMO. (thumbsu
