Golden Age Classic Cover Nominations 2 2

I nominate Batman #9. It has it all. This should have been designated classic years ago. Last actual "Bat-A**" cover until Detective 395, IMO. This cover has been reproduced in title at least once (Bat 16 "phased" image), on advertisements, toys, flyers and homaged many many times and hinted at in other instances. All Hail Jack Burnley. I'll even use the Fred Ray recreation version that's being sold at HA this month:

Unless I'm mistaken, the cover of Bat-Man #9 is attributed to Jack Burnley.   

HA may have missed that.  Nevertheless, Fred Ray's cover for #11 is judged a classic in it's own rite and he certainly had the chops to do a superb recreation.  

While Burnley's cover may not be designated a classic, it's a great cover and given your impassioned advocacy, perhaps it should be.

That is beautiful! We see so many references and homages to the 9 cover. I wonder what it takes to qualify for a classic cover designation?

Not sure if this one has it noted on the label on more recently slabbed copies but if not, it's also deserving imho. One of the longer held books in my collection.

It would be tough to nominate another Hit comic for classic cover since Hit 5 and 11 are already listed but I would nominate Hit 12 or 17.

It is hard to accept Hit 5 and Seven Seas 4 as classics without including Exciting 60.

This "truth bomb" cover is certainly timely this week.  Great art finds new meaning in new eras.  I have got to own a copy of this comic!
