I'm enjoying reading your thoughts on it. 171 & 172 were great. Can’t go wrong with Miller Bullseye stories. Hopefully I’ll find the time to read 173-180 tonight. Read the first two issues in it and really like the fun poking it does on Supes. Also I like Edlund's art work. Popular Post ttfitz
Last count - 8 Latest additions: Deceivers 1-6 Stephen Grant gives us loads of action and spy intrigue in this series. I enjoyed it a great deal - it had more twists and turns than a road in West Virginia, as Lincoln McCord might say. Well, he probably wouldn't, he's too cool for that sort of thing. Really like the character, though, wish Grant would do a follow up series. First Law of Mad Science 1-8 + "Three Card Games" So the writers of this book had a booth at Baltimore Comic Con a few years back, the title caught my eye, so my daughter and I stopped and talked to them - I made some stupid joke about the title (hopefully not an overdone Fight Club riff), they pretended to find it funny, so we got along splendidly. They talked me into buying the first issue - which promptly sat around the house until the following year, when we were walking thru the con and saw their table, "Quick" says I to the girl, "turn around before they see us!" But eventually I read the book, enjoyed it enough to talk to them again, and picked up some more issues. Anyway, the first 5 issues plus "Three Card Games" are available in a collection called "Work Until Your Family Is Sad". I will say that I found these first issues a little bit busy, a little hard to keep track of the characters, the action jumps around a little too much between the number of different plot threads, and the dark coloring makes the art hard to follow. But I still found it grabbed my attention. The later issues they finally started to hit their stride, and I look forward to all this trouble to end, so I can go to a con and tell them. Recommended. Looks like that pushes the count to... 23. Edited January 13, 2021 by ttfitz Ken Aldred, Raze, WeR138 and 2 others

I was 9, on a 9-year-old's budget, and probably not ready to appreciate the...grit in Miller's stories. I'm gonna read them all together when I finally finish the run. Popular Post srezvan
I'm up to 25 for the year already. We're almost done with the main Age of Apocalypse storyline. I think just 3 more, then my daughter wants to go back and read the backup stories. Some stories are better than others, but I really enjoy the storyline. The Matt Fraction Hawkeye series was really hyped on the reading thread last year. And it lived up to the hype. I have no idea why a book about Hawkeye is go engaging and entertaining, but it really works. Great story, humor, fun characters and situations. I'm almost done with the second TPB and I've already ordered #3 and #4 so I can finish up the series. Can it read without being immersed in the whole Marvel Universe (which I'm not opposed to, but I haven't kept up for years so I wouldn't want to pull this out if it was)? Oh, I read X-Men stuff, but it's completely unrelated. Go for it! ttfitz

Ah, off the top of my head without digging out the box in the next room, let me see... 158-160 are on the way. I have 167, 171-174, and 180-184. And 191, I think. Missing all the others for now. I also have 128-157 and am slowly working my way back. One reason I'm going for Daredevil is, it's one of the mainstream Marvel titles where I don't already go deep into the Silver Age, and as opposed to ASM or Hulk, fewer big keys in the way to make it unaffordable. I actually scored a 131 in a lot on eBay a year or two ago - 131-157 for $75! The 131 isn't high grade but not a rag either. Thanks for asking! Popular Post kccoig14
I'm gonna go ahead and join in on this again this year. Last year I was keeping track of my progress over on the DC app and was able to repost most of my submissions from over there to here on these boards before the end of the year. But ill be trying to make a post here at least once every couple weeks since I seem to be going through a lot of comics so far this year already. Ill also be posting pics of my favorite books that I read on each of the lists I post and some covers that I just think are cool. Lately I've been reading a lot of Marvel, trying to get caught up on runs/ events that I missed. I'm also going to be going through my golden age books (mostly) in alphabetical order and reading some of those that I haven't read yet. Anyway, here's my first list of everything that I've read since January 1st. -King in Black: Namor #2, Symbiote Spider-Man #3, Return of the Valkyries #1, Iron Man/Doom #1, Planet of the Symbiotes #1, Gwen's vs. Carnage #1, Thunderbolts #1 (7) -Taskmaster #1-2 (2) -Thor #11 -Guardians of the Galaxy #10 -Venom #32 -Amazing Spider-Man #55-57 (3) -Spider-Woman #8 -Wolverine #8 -Dark Knights: Death Metal #7, :The Secret Origin #1, :The Last Stories of the DC Universe #1, The Last 52: War of the Multiverses #1 (4) -Detective Comics #1033 -Future State: The Next Batman #1, Dark Detective #1, Swamp Thing #1 (3) -Batman Annual #5 -Detective Comics #1033 -Crossover #2,3 (2) -Spawn #312, 313 (2) -Buster Brown Comics (1945) #7, 10 (2) -Jack Armstrong (1947) #8 -Buck Roger's in the 25th Century (1951) #101 -Justice Traps the Guilty (1947) #29 -Defenders: The Best Defense TPB (5) -Marvel Universe: The End TPB (6) -Infinity Omnibus HC (24) -Sub-Mariner: The Depths (5) -Famous First Editions New Fun #1 -Guardians of the Galaxy & X-Men: The Black Vortex HC (13) -Inhumanity TPB (20) -Harrow County Omnibus vol. 1 (16) TOTAL: 126 2021 TOTAL: 126 WeR138, Raze, Talapas1 and 3 others

No need to be bathed in Marvel mythos to catch on to the story and it's a fast reader and just fantastic. You'll enjoy finishing it and ttfitz will enjoy it from the start. srezvan
34 comics for the year! Age of Apocalypse is almost complete. It's so funny to hear my daughter get so excited to read X-Men Omega and then go back and read the backup stories. She's very interested in how Scarlet Witch died - the reader knows early on that she's dead, so not really a spoiler. Not all the AoA books are great, but I still really enjoy the "what if" storyline. X-Calibre may be my least favorite. I also finished the second Hawkeye TPB. Still a fantastic series, and I've already purchased TPBs 3 and 4 so I can finish the run. I'm still very happy about my decision to start selling off my floppies and switch to TPBs. Great series, but I was thrown off by the "Pizza Dog" story at first. I really had no idea that was such a popular/famous issue. That's how little I keep up with modern comics. I went back and read it again and enjoyed it more the second time. Grills!!!!!!!! After all this talk of Iron Fist, I went and added the first TPB to my want list. I've only read one Iron Fist story, and that was the 1st appearance of Sabretooth. All I know of Iron Fist is the awful Netflix series with the most whiny billionaire superhero known to humankind. But, I don't think I've had a bad recommendation from this thread yet, so I'll give it a try, eventually. I've got some Conan books started already. Should be a quick read. And then? Maybe Tag and Bink. How knows? Raze, ttfitz, WeR138 and 1 other
WeR138
Amazing Spider-Man 24 more issues between 138 and 185. Pretty much all Ross Andru now, but that's all right with me. I associate him with Spider-Man more than probably any other artist. Still missing a lot of issues, so I'm not getting much in the way of completed arcs. Highlight: I have a soft spot for the Nightcrawler, Punisher, Jigsaw story in 161 and 162. If I had more of the issues, the Clone story-line would have rated much higher. 48 issues read in 2021 Talapas1, ttfitz, piper and 1 other
