The notion of a message board hall of fame is pretty laughable.  But, if I were going to nominate anyone, it would be based on quality of posts, not quantity (longevity would matter, but not number of posts), so I might be on board with 10+ years but not 10,000 plus posts (that just encourages spam).  And if I were going to name some of the posters who have conveyed the highest quality info

Yup.  A few years ago there was a craze for padding out counts by 1000s using graemlins.

Unfortunately his board life was cut ridiculously short but the "party". Yes he was controversial, yes he has  unparalleled knowledge of the platinum age (see Overstreet), yes he was there from the beginning as a collector, dealer, and true comic book collector...with flaws...yes and who does not have them. We lost a tremendous resource on this board in which facebook gained. Yes he had the 1960's burn it down mentality. But it is WE the collective board knowledge that lost out, we have  was witnessed  many classic threads being deleted out of existence. Those, which were very vigorously debated, are gone forever, the "party: has erased them from existence and our memory. Hence controlling the past also controls the present and future.

It is in the sprit of this loss, we must NEVER forget who build this foundation of the CGC boards, who by the are the best in the world, most knowledgeable, and most accessible in the comic book/art collecting world today 2021. And yet what exists today is only a banishment list...that is wrong.

Please take a minute today, to at least remember our fallen victims who have come, flamed out, and no longer exist according to Big Brother. There are always two sides to every story...and I  fully believe in rehabilitation, that Men and Women can change, and that second chance should be given to those who have atoned or realized their mistakes. It time to create a CGC COMIC BOOK BOARD CLEMENCY LIST ???..... in the spirit of mercy and lenience.

Please tell me all of this is satire? Please.

Clemency has been in the news lately as a hot topic.  It is real. It's purpose is heal, and encourage rehabilitation in our society. Why not here....who are we to say or challenge a time honored tradition. Who out there will SECOND the motion.....who has the guts on this board to agree with this stand.

Once I started reading Mitch's posts in Golden Age I realised he was a real fan, not just focused on the market values, but someone who has a deep, genuine and long term interest in the medium itself; the stories, the artwork, the characters.   We have similarities. I like Cal's randomness, the use of third person, and perhaps one day I'll get into Caltopia and acquire a citizen's copy of Iron Man / Submariner 1. High grade, hopefully, as I'm obsessive-compulsive.

Thank you. If we go back in time to 1973 I believe that Overstreet had Action 1 at 600 in mint. I was in love, I did not care about market value, price, resale etc..I went for it, from the heart. Spot on Ken.

There is no doubt that Bob has information and stories I'd love to hear.  I reached out to him directly about something he once said on a topic of intense interest, information I'd only seen him express, but he didn't respond back.  I'd really like to get the info out of him.  So, yeah, I'd be happy to see him back on the boards - so long as it didn't devolve into flame wars (and I know there are folks who have strong objections to him).

I agree put him on probation, or" double secret probation" but maybe he has mellowed a bit now that he has gotten older and has "real purpose" in life, no longer being a E-Bay seller living from sale to sale and having his income devastated by family medical bills and E-bay store attacks. His new project is to create a Comic book fandom history movie, his archives are simply put amazing because he knew where to look and get before they were destroyed ....I hope and pray, that if he is unable to create this project that the archives will be retained and given to a major museum. The stuff I have seen and talked about are irreplaceable. Lets hope this gets done as it is a win-win for everyone true comic book collector.

My nomination would be Howard Greber.  A great boardie pal, and our conversations are still, several years on, sadly missed.  A world-class level expert on underground comix, my mentor in the field, and the source of my specialist Richard Corben underground collection. As far as my 40 + year involvement in comics in general goes, one of the most enthusiastic, genuine, helpful and intelligent individuals I've ever had the privilege of knowing.

Great choice....remember the eternal wait between volumes of his masterpiece the "photo journal"....it was like yesterday....the books stand the test of time and inspired me to buy or collect books I had never seen before.

Bob ripped off people. Forget it. He’s never asked for forgiveness. He doesn’t get any.  Even if he did, he could never control himself here or on Facebook. He isn’t worth the trouble.

I understand your point of view and can respect it.

I haven't been here long but I agree that permanent banning users on forums designed to communicate and share information with no clearly defined "path to redemption" seems heavy handed and not in the spirit of good debate among opposing views who may disagree.

I'll second it if I can.
