Marvel chipping

It seems that Marvel chipping affects the value of a comic more than it does the grade...typically CGC is very lenient on production defects...stains can get hammered depending on size and appearance...

I have a couple early ff with marvel chips. How bad do they affect grade. Worth slabbing?  Are they worse than stains?

Yes, they're worth slabbing, especially if they're desirable issues. And since it's a production defect, I'd have to say CGC tolerates Marvel chipping more than they tolerate stains...

Just be aware that not all chipped/damaged Marvel comics pages are "Marvel chipping". Also, it's possible to have a book display Marvel chipping that has been aggravated by later wear. But broadly speaking, yes, it's a production defect and has a limited grade impact.
