Mosconi, that's the perfect 4.0 (to me!) - the kind of book I look for -- congrats on a great copy.  And thanks to the others for posting their wp copies as well.

Thanks Dan!  I was super elated when I finally located this copy after many years of searching.  I paid a steep price for it at the time (probably GPA record), but it's a keeper that won't leave my collection any time soon, even with the crazy prices going around nowadays!

Who was the Boardie that would always post that white pages have no bearing on FMV despite unequivocal evidence to the contrary?

that guy was such an incessantly irritating person that i blocked him. then later i heard that he disappeared from the boards, thankfully.

Hi,

Old collector, new poster here. I think it’s evident that WP demand a premium, but here’s a debate I often have when deciding which book to keep. As most collectors know, Pacific Coast pedigrees are more often than not OW/W. When deciding which book to sell and which to keep, do you go with a PC pedigree with OW/W pages, or any major pedigree for that matter, or a non-pedigree WP copy?

I am very interested to hear others’ thoughts. I have tended to stick with the pedigree copy, but I continue to struggle with that one.

Thanks

Hey rebel --

I'm sure others' opinions will vary, but for me it's simply looking at the books in front of me.  Which one is nicer in terms of overall eye appeal, registration, gloss, color, 'it' factor?  But if they were exactly the same in those terms, I'd still prefer the WP copy unless the pedigree held some emotional attraction (such as the Curators or the Twin Cities books, as I'm a native Minnesotan).

The three major things I look for is front and back cover condition, page quality and staple condition. It is #2 for me, page quality made a 1 million dollar difference on the highest price Action 1 sale. White pages to me are a super bonus even if a 5.0

The longer I've collected the more I've gotten into white pages...once I got every book I ever wanted, I then went on the hunt for white pagers, I've also noticed that quite often white pagers also have superior color strike. Here are a few of the favorites from my "Ditko" Spider-man collection and yes, I had to pay a premium for most of them...

So much respect for this kind of collection.  Beautiful copies that present extremely well.
