TOS 39 - Graded Coverless - Opinions? 0

A few year back, I started buying up coverless keys and ended up having Fedoraman attach repro covers for display in my comic room. Now, I’m looking to get a few slabbed. 
 

looking at my TOS 39, I had completely forgotten that it had its original cover (see pics). Half of the front cover is gone but the back cover is full. Looks like it was taped on to the rest of the book at some point. 
 

if my intent is to sell, thoughts on direction with this one? Grade as is with repro cover, detach repro cover and grade with original half of front cover?

I really don't know what will give you more value.  

I can tell you,  I personally wouldn't want the repo cover. So I would remove and get it as close to original as possible. 

Others may have different opinions.

Go with the original cover even though it is torn in half. I am guessing CGC will give you a 0.5, but there are lots of people in the world that would want that book.

Agree with everyone else here. Buyers will prefer an original low grade copy VS a repo cover.

Also, If I had to choose between no cover at all and repo, I would go with no cover.

If I were buying this I would also prefer the original cover as well. Main image of Iron Man is still intact, should appeal to lots of folks looking for a reader or more affordable copy!

This is a very specific case for me, but I personally would prefer it without the original cover on at all.

I absolutely LOVE the first page of this book, and when in a case makes for a great presentation (the title, giant character art, clear staff credits and a fun intro text box at the bottom. No copyright text, no other distracting info - just a massive pin up page! art!). So having the original cover split on it, while being more valuable, takes away from the impact of the art (both of the original cover and the interior page - neither really gets to shine). Part of me says to just remove the remaining front cover and slab the rest (back cover with the rest of the book), and then just sell the front cover piece for a chunk of money    (I say this only as a person who owns both a coverless copy AND a complete copy)

edit: Also correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe a book that is missing the front cover only and still has the back cover attached might still get a 0.5 grade from CGC (I've seen examples of this but not sure if they revised this recently. I know if its missing both the front and back covers it would automatically be a NG).
