MPH1964 Posted April 11, 2021 Share Posted April 11, 2021 Hi all - Presented here is ASM #17 - The 2nd appearance of the Green Goblin. This is a purple label due to the color touch down the length of the spine. Also there appears to be color touches on the bottom right corner in the brown coat. Additionally, there is a moderate spine roll, small edge tears and two, long color breaking creases on the back cover. Cover and centerfold are secure and book is complete. A nice presenting book with some unfortunate modifications... I am considering just a C&P and leaving it raw. So my question: What is the grade as is? And a follow up: Does a color touch (amateur) affect the grade or is the book simply graded on its condition and a purple restored label is slapped on it? Thanks! I picked this up a long time ago, and it’s interesting that you used the word shame because the LCS that sold it to me never mentioned it or noted it. To be fair, it was sold as a Good (2.0) so it isn’t like they were representing a much nicer book and gouging the hell out of me. Anyway, lesson learned. This book is still one of my favorites; it holds a special place in my heart, both as a teachable moment and as a reminder of why I loved comics growing up. I believe w a color touch it is given a restored (purple label) and degree of restoration specified, https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/4084/ I am not sure that specifying the restoration reduces grade, but certainly lowers value to perspective buyers.
