I believe they offered to take them back and refund the original purchase price but I would have still been out the original shipping and grading (and more shipping) costs which they would not reimburse and, of course, I would have had to pay additional shipping to return them. So instead I ate my losses and sold them to a friend who doesn't mind (disclosed) color touch and was happy to add a couple of sweet ECs to his small collection at a steal of a price.

I have to say I have had horrible "luck" buying from Metro/Comicconnect. After my Mom passed away I inherited a decent chunk of money and bought quite a few raw comics from them over a relatively short period of time. The biggest mistake I made was not going over the books carefully when I received them, as if I had I would have returned all but a single book.

PLANET COMICS (1940-54) #1, FN+: 6.5 ... grades as a 4.5

PLANET COMICS (1940-54) #12, VG/F: 5.0 ... grades as a 5.5, but it is restored and the restoration is undisclosed. Tear seals is easily detected and should have been noted.

MENACE #9, VG/F: 5.0 ... restored, obvious color touch not disclosed

MISTER MYSTERY (1951-54) #7, VG/F: 5.0 ... restored, color touch not disclosed

WITCHCRAFT #2, G/VG: 3.0 ... cover is barely hanging on and it comes back as a CGC 1.5. Badly over graded again.

X-MEN (1963-2011) #100, F/VF: 7.0  / X-MEN (1963-2011) #105, F/VF: 7.0  / X-MEN (1963-2011) #110, VF-: 7.5 ... these were group lots from the Ralph Macchio collection and for some reason the books were scanned on a black cloth background. When I get the books they have this strange black shadow along the spines and tops of every book. Couldn't see it in the scan.

STARTLING TERROR TALES-1ST SERIES #11, FN+: 6.5 ... comes back as a CGC 4.5, yet another over graded book.

BAFFLING MYSTERIES #7, VG/F: 5.0 ... front scan only and it presents well. When I get it the back has a giant water stain that covers 70% of the cover. Not disclosed.

This is the only raw book I have bought from them that I did ok on: DARK MYSTERIES (1951-55) #19, FN+: 6.5 ... came back as a cgc 6.0

NEVER buying raw from them again.

Yeah I change my statement: it isn't horrible "luck", it is clearly their intention to mislead buyers for the purpose of money.

My last CGC purchase I paid for the book immediately after getting the invoice but my payment was "cancelled by vendor" according to my bank. I wanted to contact them to see what was the issue, as the amount was under the maximum they state on their website.

I sent emails with the order information and never heard from them. I then started phoning in the morning, at lunch and before they close every single day for weeks (harassment???). Never hear from them. One day I actually get through but the person who answered doesn't work in billing and was going to hang up. I pleaded with him to help me and he literally walked the phone to the billing department and handed it to a guy who took my credit card info for payment. 

Regarding that book: the colors were so jacked up on the website it completely misrepresents the book. I was going to return it, but Piper talked me into keeping it.

I don't know about the shipping speed, but I would strongly recommend not to order any raw comics from them. They overgrade by a significant margin.

Bob Storms, Worldwide Comics to name a few more.

I've found Heritage to be exactly bang on with every raw book I've bought from them and then had graded, but I agree MyComicShop 100% under grades their stuff.

Metropolis however vastly over grades, and out of all online stores, I have received the most undisclosed restored books from them (always given a credit though once it was caught, as I have not bought anything more than $300 from them - but it still sucks)

Congrats, let us know if it makes it there safely, how long it takes for the media mail package to get there,  how poorly graded it was, what undisclosed resto it has, how long it takes you to get a hold of anyone at the company, how long it takes you to get a hold of anyone that feels like being helpful....

I could go on but I think you may get how my past dealings with them have gone.

I dealt with Stephen from 1979 on from CBG buyers guide he knows how to grade and find resto  The problem is He got really big with ever thing and i am sure he don't even get involved with grading or resto check. Whole new group of people no more @Robot Man @Mmehdy but we still have @MrBedrock still a small guy
