Deframing comic art

Sorry if this one has been dealt with before, (I would be surprised if it has not) but I have acquired some framed comic art that was glued both to the backing boards and the front was matted. I have dealt with a conservator (previously made some SA mylars for me) and was going to ask her about removing the backing and matting. The frames kept the SA art extremely white, to my surprise and the art was discounted when I bought it. Would just like to remove it for easy storage.

Anyone else got any experience or tips.
