Antiques Roadshow episode and the Rubén Blades‘ collection - ‘Tec 27, Action 1 and more - wow! 2 2

New episode of Antique Roadshow tonight featured celebrity collections including that of musician Reuben Blades who is an avid comic book collector. In addition to owning restored copies of Detective 27 and Action 1, he had tons of amazing original art. I’m not seeing any clips online yet - but here are a few photos...

For the curious...auction estimates she gave on the ‘Tec was $200-$250k, while Action could fetch $175k -$225k.

I like the Archie Annual 10 peeking out as well as some paperbacks on the shelf below that, which look to include Green Mansions (a strange choice) and possibly Whip Hand and Behind the Flying Saucers. The Crumb checklist is also neat. I always like seeing what else people collect!

What an articulate and well spoken man. He reps us well, and is a true collector. As the appraiser was estimating the values of some of his comics and original art, it seemed he truly didn’t care, and was just playing along as the appraiser put on a show.

Do you really think that's the same one?? I recall the ads, especially in Overstreet 11 with the Cole cover, about the re-creations. I figure that's one he must've had multiple requests for.

I think he only did one of each cover.
