All I want is to look at each comic age and sort auctions by end date to try and catch any goodies. Made an incident with their helpdesk. Literally pasted the notes from here to the rep because she said all the listings populate for her and had no idea why it wasnt working for me. rjpb Posted May 12, 2021 Share Posted May 12, 2021 Apparently ebay has done something like this with all their listing categories, not just comics. It seems impossible to scroll through listings by era. You have to use keywords now. This will definitely impact sales, as most people just want to scroll through categories instead of having to plug in endless titles and characters and then sort by era. The "professional grader" won't populate/stick if you click on it. She told me this..... To get it to work in the meantime till eBay fixes the glitch do this: 1. List the item 2. Revise it immediately 3. Then go to the "professional grader" dropdown, select the grading company. It will now populate and work 4. Click Revise and start drinking! I wonder if they did any research or got any feedback from real customers before they decided to move ahead with this change. I was briefly able to leave the search bar blank, hit search under comics and then pick Golden Age and ended up with Golden Age listings, but tried it again and I just get a page explaining what GA comics are with further options to narrow a general search by genre which if you click on them just ask you narrow further never getting to a page of listings. The net result of that, when it comes to hobby's and collectibles is that more granular search results dissuades casual browsing. We've all trained ourselves to "browse" not search for specific results. Ebay want's to be like google and have the most targeted and relevant search results (according to what they think the user want's not what we ask for) and not show anything else. I did a search in Comics for "Buscema" By default it gives search results that say only the most "relevant" results are shown, all others are filtered out. Result: 998. Uncheck the most relevant filter and you get over 6000. Thats just an example. I tried a few others and the disparity in the number of results could be quite huge. HTH Ebay's determined what "relevant" results are is a black box. But they want to only show what they think you want to see. They don't want you to browse, or shop, they want you to just search and buy. They don't want to facilitate people like us scouring the new listings in broad categories for under-priced BIN, poorly described listings, items in the wrong category, or auctions closing in the dead of night that look ripe for sniping.
