It is, but it highlights the glaring conflict of interest in having an auction house and a grading company owned by the same people.

I know they're closely affiliated, but I never knew they were owned by the same people. To whom are you referring?

Jim Halperin, the founder of Heritage is a co-owner of CGC/CCG.

Well sir, I've never seen him directly involved with any of the grading or other process areas at CGC. So if you're suggesting he has unclean hands, do you have any proof or is this just speculation on your part?

When I look at the way the hobby has progressed in the last 20+ years, it's a somewhat bittersweet reflection. While I miss being able to purchase nice high grade books for a fraction of what they're selling for these days, it's inevitable that someone was going to come along and capitalize on the situation. Things change, and I'll agree that it's not always for the better...

Not speculating or accusing. Just saying when the folks at the auction house have a financial interest in the grading house, that's a conflict of interest.

Have you not been paying attemtion to the other thread as this type of terminology is considered to be sacrilege on these boards here?  

In the Corporate business world, and especially in one where there is vertical integration like what we have here with CCG, it's simply called the unlocking of business syngeries.

..aside from "proof" most will agree it's certainly a major concern in regards to a "conflict of interest"..
